Itinerary Day by Day

Day 1: Various places - Urumqi

Welcome to the beautiful Xinjiang! After the airport pick-up, you will be taken to the hotel to rest, and then you can go to the recommended attractions for sightseeing if time permits (excluding separate car use).

Day 2: Urumqi-Burqin  (breakfast)

Today's drive from Urumqi to Burqin is long and takes about 8 to 9 hours. On the way, you will enjoy the magnificent view of the desert. Upon arrival in Burqin, you will be transferred to the hotel for check-in. Then you will enjoy the charming sunset at the colorful Rainbow Beach.

Day 3: Burqin - Kanas Nature Reserve - Jiadengyu  (breakfast)

IDay 7: Huocheng-Horgos Port-Lavender Botanical Garden-Yiningt takes about 2 hours to reach Jiadengyu. You will spend the whole day exploring the charming Kanas Nature Reserve. Kanas Lake is a high mountain lake surrounded by dense forests. The lake is shaped like a crescent, combining the majesty of northern Xinjiang and the elegance of southern Xinjiang. You will take a boat tour of the beautiful lake. Then you will hike to the Fish Viewing Pavilion, which is located about 60 meters above the lake and is the best place to overlook the entire Kanas Lake. From there, you can also enjoy the surrounding mountains. In the evening, enjoy the live music performance of the Mongolian Tuva tribe in the village.

Day 4: Jiadengyu-Hemu-Altai  (breakfast)

Today we will take you to Altay. The journey takes about 4 hours. On the way, we will visit Hemu, a small village close to Mongolia and Russia. The villagers here make a living by nomadic hunting. The river, wooden houses, wisps of smoke, and birch forests make this place a fairy tale world in real life, just like a colorful oil painting. Stay one night in a local hotel in Altay.

Day 5: Altay - Urbu Ghost Town - Kuitun  (breakfast)

A 6-hour private transfer will take you to Kuitun. On the way, visit the ghost town of Urbu, which has a typical Yadan landform and is a masterpiece of nature. Over thousands of years, the rocks have been eroded by wind and rain and carved into various shapes. Here, you can find rocks in the shape of castles, palaces and even monsters. Upon arrival in Kuitun, check in to the hotel for the night.

Day 6: Kuitun - Sailimu Lake - Huocheng  (breakfast)

It takes about 6 hours to drive to Huocheng, where 29 ethnic minorities live. After checking in at the hotel, head to Sailimu Lake, known as the "Last Tear of the Atlantic Ocean". It is the highest and largest cold water lake in Xinjiang, with an area of ​​458 square kilometers (177 square miles) and an altitude of 2073 meters (6801 feet). With snow-capped mountains on the west bank and large grasslands on the east bank, Sailimu Lake is definitely a beautiful tourist destination. The best time to visit is from June to August, when the water is extremely clear and blue, and many unknown flowers are in full bloom.

Day 7: Huocheng-Horgos Port-Lavender Botanical Garden-Yining (breakfast)

In the morning, visit the Khorgos Port between China and Kazakhstan. Standing at the port gate, you can see Kazakhstan in the distance.
Short visit to the border cooperation zone. Then visit the lavender botanical garden. It is the third largest lavender park in the world, second only to Provence and Furano. The whole park is divided into different areas. No. 65 has the largest area and the best lavender. Here you can take many wonderful photos with your camera. Finally, drive to Yining and check in to the hotel.

Day 8: Yining-Nalati Grassland (breakfast)

Day 9: Nalati-KorlaDay (breakfast)

After breakfast, we will continue to drive to Korla, which takes about 8 hours. On the way, you can enjoy the amazing landscapes such as picturesque forests, grasslands, deserts and endless snow-capped mountains. Your driver will stop to take photos according to your request. After arriving in Korla, we will help you check in to the hotel.

Day 10: Korla - Yanqi - Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar - Urumqi (breakfast)

After breakfast, we will head to Urumqi. On the way, you can enjoy the wonderful scenery along the Tianshan Road. You may see the unique black-headed sheep walking on the grass on both sides of the road. We will also stop to visit the Bosten Lakes, a group of small lakes with an area of ​​240 square kilometers (93 square miles).

After the visit, drive back to Urumqi for about 6 hours. You will check in at the hotel. After a short rest, the tour guide will accompany you to visit Xinjiang International Grand Bazaar, where Uyghur culture is best preserved. The strong Islamic-style architecture is paired with unique Xinjiang-style food and handicrafts, which will dazzle you. You can pick out some favorite souvenirs for your family or friends.

Day 11: Urumqi - Home  (breakfast)

08:00-09:00 It is recommended to eat breakfast according to the hotel breakfast time.
You can arrange it freely according to your flight time. The wonderful holiday is about to end. Say goodbye to the lovely group members one by one, pack your bags and prepare to return to your warm home after a long absence. If you are returning by plane/train, the driver will send you to the airport/station according to your flight/train time! Lunch and dinner are at your own expense!
