Itinerary Day by Day

Day 1 National-Guilin-Longsheng

When you arrive at Guilin Airport, you will find your local guide waiting for you outside the baggage claim area with a welcome sign with your name on it. If you arrive in Guilin by high-speed rail, you will meet your guide at the exit of the high-speed rail station. Your guide and driver will then escort you to Longsheng, providing a private transfer service of approximately 2 hours. If you arrive in Guilin after 18:00, it is recommended that you stay overnight in downtown Guilin and depart for Longsheng the next day. Day 2 Longji Rice Terraces-Zhuang Village-Sanjiang with breakfast and lunch

After breakfast, your guide and driver will pick you up and take you to visit the Longji Rice Terraces and Zhuang Village. You will have lunch midway through the tour. These terraces stretch from the foot of the mountain to the top, and were built and cultivated by the local Zhuang people since the 13th century. They now cover an area of 66 square kilometers (about 16,308 acres) and are between 300 meters (984 feet) and 1,100 meters (3,608 feet) above sea level. Follow your guide through the maze of hiking trails, and from the top of the mountain, you can enjoy a 360-degree view of the cascading terraces, whose wavy stone walls fit perfectly with the contours of the mountainside, forming a spectacular line art.

Day 3 Dong Village-Drum Tower-Guilin, with breakfast and lunch

Today, you will visit a Dong village and learn about the Dong culture, which is very different from the Zhuang. The Dong people have many traditions, and the most impressive one is their traditional costumes, which you can witness with your own eyes today! They still wear ethnic costumes, which are generally dyed in cyan, blue, white or brown. Because they believe that all things have spirits, they like to weave totem patterns such as flowers, birds, fish, mountains, rivers, and the sun on the fabric, praying for the gods to bless them with peace, health, and a good harvest. The history of these totems can be traced back to ancient times, which is older than written language. They are living fossils of ancient times, similar to the symbols on ancient Greek clay products and African stone statues. The Dong village is surrounded by mountains and rivers, with well-preserved stilt houses and charming natural landscapes. The landmark building in the village, the Fengyu Bridge, integrates bridges, corridors, and pavilions, reflecting the unique wisdom of the Dong people. The bridge is built of wood on stone piers and provides shelter for farmers working in the fields. Over time, it became a dating place for young people and is now a famous attraction for tourists. Another iconic building of the Dong village is the drum tower. Every Dong village has at least one such tower, which is the political and cultural center of the Dong people. Whenever the village chief beats the drum on the top floor, the villagers know that something big is about to happen, so they will stop what they are doing and gather around the tower to listen to the village chief's announcement.

Day 4 Li River - West Street, with breakfast

In the morning, take a cruise down the Li River to Yangshuo County. This will be the highlight of your 6-day trip to Guilin. You will be busy admiring various picturesque scenery: countless karst peaks on the riverside, their shadows reflected in the calm deep water, fields dotted on the riverbank, etc. You will also see some natural wonders that cannot be classified, such as halfway through the cruise route, you will see the image of a huge red carp carved on the cliff. According to legend, this is the fossilized body of the Magikarp, which jumped out of the water one day, but he was mesmerized by the surrounding scenery and did not realize that he was hooked by the stalactites on the cliff, which caused him to hang there forever. As the cruise journey continues, you will have lunch on board. After arriving in Yangshuo, your guide will assist you to check into the hotel and stay for two nights. After a short rest, we will take you along the country roads to enjoy the beautiful countryside of Yangshuo. We will rent you a bicycle for a round trip cycling tour, which is the best opportunity to get closer to the magical karst hills without the noise of cars. Of course, considering that you may not be able to or do not want to ride a bicycle, we can drive you there to enjoy the countryside. You will follow the arranged route with your guide or by car until you reach Yulong River, where you can enjoy the beautiful scenery of the magnificent Li River. There is a famous West Street in Yangshuo town, which is a lively traditional Jiangnan street, but due to the large number of non-Chinese tourists here and the exotic atmosphere, some of them are attracted by its ancient charm and even decide to settle down here permanently. Tonight, you will explore the nightlife here at your leisure.

Dinner suggestion:

When it comes to Guilin local delicacies, beer fish is the most popular. It is said that there are more beer fish restaurants in Yangshuo than mountains, and you can encounter such a restaurant almost every two steps. What's more fascinating is that each restaurant has its own unique taste due to different cooking methods. Try this dish at Yufu Beer Fish (Yufu means fisherman), a fairly famous brand in Yangshuo. The interior decoration features a portrait of an old fisherman on the wall and a stage for resident singers who perform for guests every night. Enjoying local delicacies and live music will definitely make your trip more exciting. The average consumption per person here is about 60 RMB/8 USD.

Day 5: Shilihualang-bamboo rafting-Silver Cave with breakfast

This morning, an idyllic landscape painting unfolds as you drive through the Ten-Li Gallery. The Ten-Li Gallery is a ten-li north-south scenic belt that stretches from the Totem Ancient Road near Yangshuo to the Moon Mountain. It is a natural gallery where you can see the primitive life of the ancestors in the Neolithic Age, as well as Guilin's most amazing and unique wonders, such as the 1,400-year-old banyan tree that covers an area of 1,000 square meters. Square meters (0.25 acres) - a wonder worth seeing. Then go bamboo rafting along the Yulong River, the longest tributary of the Li River in Yangshuo. The rafting experience may become the perfect embellishment of your Yangshuo trip. While immersing yourself in the calm and clear sea water, don't forget to appreciate the idyllic scenery on the shore. After 50 minutes of rafting, it's only a short drive to the Silver Cave, one of the most beautiful caves in the world. It is a natural museum that displays karst landforms from different historical periods. The cave is famous for its cascading stalactites, which look like frozen meteors, shining silver under the atmospheric lighting. Finally, we will drive back to the hotel in the center of Yangshuo.

Nighttime Activities:

If you want to kill time at night, you might as well go to see the outdoor grand performance "Impression of Liu Sanjie" which has been performed for 20 years. Over the decades, it has been performed more than 8,000 times and has attracted 20 million viewers. The performance is set against the natural landscape along the Li River, which is a performance form that cannot be seen anywhere else in the world. Each performance has more than 600 actors, all of whom are local residents, and the lives of local people have been greatly improved by the performance. According to rough statistics, local income has increased more than 10 times compared to before the creation of "Impression of Liu Sanjie".

Day 6 Daxu Ancient Town - Airport transfer - home with Breakfast

After breakfast, drive to Guilin Airport. On the way, you will visit Daxu Ancient Town, one of the four ancient market towns in Guangxi, stretching 2 kilometers (1.24 miles) along the Li River.
Most of the ancient houses on the roadside are two-story buildings from the Ming and Qing Dynasties (1368-1911 AD), and the rooms on the first floor have been transformed into various shops selling Chinese trinkets,
traditional services such as acupuncture. Here, you will get a close look at Guilin's distant past.
